How-to guide
Write and publish a lesson report
Share topics, outcomes and homework without exposing private staff notes.

Write the report#
A lesson report is attached to a participant and session. It gives families a useful account of learning; it is different from a formal level award.
- Open Activities → Progress & reports and choose the lesson-report action.
- Select the correct session and participant.
- Write the topic, outcome and homework. Use private notes only for information that belongs in the restricted staff record.
- Save the draft and review its family-facing content before publishing.
Publish and correct#
Publishing creates the version families are allowed to read. A saved draft is not a sent report. Check the publication status and intended visibility.
If a correction is needed, edit through the supported version workflow and publish the corrected report. Do not assume the family has read a publication simply because it exists. Keep clinical or safeguarding details in the appropriate restricted workflow, not in general homework text.
