File handling#
Use a type accepted by the specific upload control. Uploads pass through validation and scanning; a pending scan is not a usable attachment. Do not rename a rejected file's extension to get past validation.
Ordinary display images may be sanitised. Financial evidence preserves its original content. Use the appropriate workflow so the intended treatment and permissions apply. Export links are temporary; the configured export download window is 72 hours. Store downloaded copies securely.
If an upload fails#
Check the file size, format, current storage usage and scan result. Retry a transient failure once after checking the record for an existing upload. Ask the administrator about rejected or quarantined files. Do not upload confidential records to an unrelated public tool to reduce their size.
