## Create an offering

An offering describes what a participant enrols in, such as a term class or training cohort. Its group supplies the ongoing roster. It is different from a dated session.

1. Open Activities and Offerings.
2. Create the offering with its type, dates, group, capacity, staff and eligibility conditions.
3. Review the participant before deciding placement. Use the waitlist when a place is not available.
4. Check the resulting enrolment and group membership rather than assuming a pending application has a place.

## Offer a waiting place

When a place opens, use the waitlist offer action and its expiry. The family should follow the secure offer link while it is valid. A timed offer is not a permanent reservation.

Acceptance may require a separate commerce continuation when payment conditions apply. Check enrolment and payment state before treating the place as confirmed. Expired or declined offers retain history; create a fresh authorised offer if appropriate instead of reusing an old token.

## Handle exceptions

If capacity changed while you were working, refresh before retrying. If a family cannot accept, check expiry, the intended account/participant, eligibility and any payment condition. Do not bypass capacity by adding a duplicate participant or unrelated roster membership.
